Description of Project:

Carlsbad Hauling & Limited Transfer Station is a fully operational waste station. Pride assisted the site with the installation of Phase I stormwater upgrades. Phase I consisted of install of trench drains to prevent stormwater runoff at the exit gates, install of a stormwater basin, a percolation pipe trench line system, construction of a CMU wall outlet with filters, catch basin filter upgrades, bollard install and install of a new stormwater sampling port.

Scope of Work Performed:

• Excavation and grading of stormwater basin, including installation of rip-rap and riser system
• Install of two (2) ACO S300K trench drains at two (2) different gates
• 300-LF below grade retention basin overflow trench, 6-inch PVC pipe burrito-wrapped with rock and geotextile
• 60-LF CMU wall with stainless steel unistruts securing Filtrexx Soxx at discharge location
• Install of bollard systems to protect above grade structures
• CMP stormdrain cleanout and grading at the outfall pipe

Project Successes:

• Maintained project schedule while working around onsite operations. Pride’s work was performed during normal work hours and off hours in order to complete the work without impacting site operations. Work efforts required thorough communication with all site personnel.
• Provided clean-up operations within a protected area, which required hand-work and small equipment. During operations Pride staff was required to work with City officials to ensure work was completed properly while satisfying the permit requirements of the protected area.
• Field crews were able to provide client with actual field elevations to redesign drainage systems
• Project was completed ahead of schedule and on budget
