Davis Street Waste Transfer Station Stormwater Improvements


Description of Project:

Davis Street Transfer Station is owned and operated by Waste Management (WM) and an active waste hauling/transfer station in San Leandro, Ca. The work was part of the overall stormwater improvements for the site, whereas WM contracted Pride for site improvements/rehabilitation efforts for improving site stormwater sampling results.

Scope of Work Performed:

  • Demolition & removal of 5-acres of existing hardscape materials
  • Excavation/loading and hauling off approx. 7,000-CYDS of grindings/soils
  • Full-Depth Remediation at approx. 17-inch depth, including the application of cement and lime
  • Fine grade and install 200,000-SF of new asphalt at varying depths ranging from 6-7.5-inches
  • Construction of approx. 10,000-SF of new concrete ribbon gutters
  • Install of new inlet risers, debris rack and bollards
  • Pavement Striping

Project Successes:

  • Pride was required to work off-hours intermittently throughout the project, due to heavy site traffic. With consistent scheduling /communication with onsite officials, no impacts to site operations occurred during Pride’s construction activities.
