Nellis AFB Landfill Grading

Description of Project:

Pride assisted the client with remedial grading of approx. 17-acres of existing landfill cover materials, along with construction of a 3,000-LF perimeter swale. Prides construction efforts included mass excavation and earthwork hauling, cut and fill earthwork operations, fine grading, install of 36-inch drainage piping, riprap reinforcement along channel embankment and installation of crushed miscellaneous base/asphalt paving.

Scope of Work Performed:

• Mass excavation and cut/fill grading operations
• Cut/fill grading of perimeter drainage channels
• Install of riprap within perimeter channel area
• Install of 260-LF of 36-inch CSP pipe
• Construction of roadway crossing
• Fine grading of 17-acres
• Asphalt paving of roadway crossing

Project Successes:

• Maintained project schedule while working 11-day continuous shifts
• Pride field crews assisted client with design of drainage piping to accommodate for elevation differences from the original plan
• Project was completed ahead of schedule and on budget
