GI Industry Hauling & Transfer Station

Description of Project:

GI Industry Hauling & Transfer Station is a fully operational waste handling facility. Pride provided install of final stormwater upgrades for the facility. Stormwater upgrades included install of an underground stormwater infiltration and discharge system. The project required mass excavation and grading, install of perforated corrugated metal piping, concrete inlet structures, numerous concrete stormwater control structures and concrete/asphalt revitalization.

Scope of Work Performed:

Demolition of existing asphalt, concrete and existing features
Install of sheet pile shoring within infiltration gallery excavation footprint
Excavation, load-out and hauling of approx. 4000-CYDS of existing earthwork materials
Placement of sand bedding material and install of 730-LF of 120-inch CMP piping
Procure, delivery and install of approx. 4500-tons of angular stone
Procure and install numerous 48-inch drain inlets, along with 18-inch and 10-inch PVC piping
Procure/set/install diverter and bypass structures, high velocity interceptor/horizontal flow clarifier, junction/confluence structure at two (2) different locations at site
Install approx. non-woven geotextile over angular stone within infiltration gallery
Install of three (3) concrete manholes access points with frames and covers
Procure/deliver/set/install 40K gallon precast stormwater storage tanks with PVC C900 piping
Placement and compaction of class II base and install of new asphalt and concrete over disturbed areas

Project Successes:

Due to project constraints with truck hauling/parking, Pride was required to work around operational activities, which confined us to a truncated footprint on a daily basis
Due to constraints of the site, Pride worked 7-day work weeks, 12-hour work days to expedite the work. Project was completed within a 1-month period
